We are now entering the first month of spring, and we are starting to see the early outlines of the Norwegian housing market in 2026. Some of my clients have already successfully purchased homes in Norway this year – congratulations to them! With more homes now coming onto the market, conditions are also looking promising for buyers throughout the spring.
Housing prices in Norway increased by 0.5% in February 2026, but when adjusted for seasonal variations, prices actually fell slightly by 0.3%. So far this year, housing prices have increased by 4.1%.
Price developments vary between cities. Bergen experienced strong price growth in February, while Oslo saw weaker development with a price decline of 0.4%. Trondheim also recorded a noticeable increase in housing prices. Price growth in Tromsø continues, although at a slower pace than last year.
Activity in the resale housing market remains solid. In February, 7,862 homes were sold in Norway, slightly fewer than in the same month last year. At the same time, the number of homes being listed for sale is increasing.
For those considering buying a home in Norway, this means the market remains active, although with clear regional differences. And buyer’s market in Oslo region.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see whether global uncertainty will have any impact on the Norwegian economy and housing market – and, of course, what happens with interest rates.
I’m happy to help you assess the right purchase price and opportunities in today’s market!
